shoot gallery // film from a farm weekend
Black and white is not my usual medium…usually I’m pushing for more color, color, COLOR. But I just got these scans back, and I’m in l o v e. Like most people, we’ve spent the majority of the past 6 months in our own house and yard. So it felt extra freeing to get out of town for Labor Day weekend to visit my best friend at her farmhouse upstate, exploring old barns and wallowing in the creek. And it’s equally freeing to shoot in a way that’s unusual for me- it can help break me out of a creative rut and spark a new phase. Creativity fatigue is always a challenge of producing every week, but now more than ever, I’m tasked with producing imagery every week within the same walls with the same bodies - not to mention the fact that covid anxiety and homeschool madeness has me semi-braindead these days. Turns out that a roll of T-Max P3200 and a float in the creek is just what I needed (photo of me in the creek by my daughter Vivi :) ).
