Each month is a print of a handmade cyanotype image printed on 100% recycled cardstock. Moon phase data taken from the Griffith Observatory. More info on cyanotypes below!

A cyanotype, or sun print, is an antique photographic process in which photosensitive paper is developed when exposed to sunlight. I make a negative for each month using a photograph of the moon, coat watercolor paper with cyanotype chemicals, and develop the image in a patch of sunshine in my yard. Each print is incredibly varied in tone and texture, subject to witchy luck and the whim of natural elements - a splash of water, a passing cloud.
