shoot gallery // creation under quarantine
I keep sitting down to write an intro to this blog post about the intricate emotions and experiences of lockdown life. But I’m overwhelmed at the prospect and basically braindead at this point. I’ll just say I’m super grateful that my family is healthy and I have such a lovely safe place to shelter. And for the timing of this pandemic, right at spring, when nature reminds you quite literally every day that blossoms arrive after the dead of winter, that seasons pass and this, too, will evolve and change, and we will be okay in the end. Life in quarantine has plenty of challenges…not the least of which is trying to find time to continue running a small business, finding a way to keep up my creativity even with a very limited supply of time, models, props, and inspiration! Basically any time i get a single photo, I’m super proud of myself. So without attempting to use my brain to write this post any further, here’s a small gallery of some of my work from the first 6 weeks of quarantine. Some strange new concepts, some spring flowers, and a bit of escapism. A special shout-out to my kids, who have to endure way more photoshoots than usual (but let’s be honest, they’ve upped their bribe amount to multiple desserts per shoot, so they’re doing just fine).
