JGP agave margaritas

Okay, I’m a day late for cinco de mayo…but I think it’s always a good day to drink a margarita. Also, this marks the first day of my BIRTH WEEK! Yes, I celebrate a week, not a day…and this year’s a big one, so maybe I’ll just usurp the remainder of May. This is the best margarita recipe ever - simple and perfect - which I photographed back in Marisa’s and my blogging days. Head over there for the recipe, and start counting down days til the weekend! Cheers!

*edited 10/2023 to say - sadly, our blog Chasing Saturdays has officially been put to rest…but here’s the recipe, from Bon Appetit!:

Ingredients

  • Kosher salt

  • 2 lime slices or wedges

  • ¼ cup tequila blanco or reposado

  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup (nectar)

  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice

DIRECTIONS

  1. Rub a lime slice over the rim of an Old Fashioned glass and dip the rim of the glass into a small dish of kosher salt.

  2. Combine tequila, agave syrup, and juice in a cocktail shaker; fill with ice and shake well. Strain into prepared glass. Garnish with second lime slice.
